The Foundation is also actively involved in the arrangements for The International Winter Festival Arts Square, which began in 1999. Another brainchild of Maestro Temirkanov, this festival is aimed at promulgating the mastery of music and its true artistry, as well as Saint Petersburg's tradition of cultural achievement and its international character both among the residents and visitors to the city.

Gradually, other cultural and touristic venues around Arts Square – The State Russian Museum, The Grand Hotel Europe, The Mikhailovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre, The Russian Museum of Ethnography and The Musical Comedy Theatre – joined The Festival. Today the event provides the cultural hallmark for the winter theatre season in Saint Petersburg.

"With all the richness of events and genres appearing in The International Winter Festival Arts Square, we are always trying to stick to the Saint Petersburg style; and I consider it to be its basic feature", the Maestro says.

During the 2011 Festival, the generous support of benefactors allowed the Foundation to donate a Steinway & Sons Concert Grand Piano to the Philharmonic.
